The Big Thank You: Royal Welsh College and Artes Mundi
celebrate the Results of The Big Give

Last week The Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, and
Artes Mundi took part in the national donation challenge, The
Garfield Weston Foundation Big Give.
Over the three days of the Big Give the Royal Welsh College
received donations from individuals resulting in a final total of
over £29,000 while Artes Mundi raised over £23,000.
Artes Mundi and The Royal Welsh College were invited to be
involved in the donation scheme by The Garfield Weston Foundation.
The Big Give is a national scheme which challenges organisations to
inspire and encourage individuals to give to charity by matching
their donations, while also raising awareness and support for the
arts and education.
“The Garfield Weston Foundation Big Give has been a fantastic
initiative for the Royal Welsh College to be involved with. By
offering to double donations made through the Big Give, the
Foundation has inspired a great many individuals to get involved
with charitable giving and supporting the arts in Wales, and we are
extremely grateful to everyone who donated.” said Hilary Boulding,
Principal of The Royal Welsh College.
Carl Grainger, Head of Finance for Artes Mundi, commented, “It
is encouraging, in these days of financial cutbacks and
uncertainties, that so many individuals are prepared to put
hard-earned money towards ensuring the arts continue to play a
central role in our society. We are grateful to them and to the
Garfield Weston Foundation which provided the incentive that made
such a wonderful result possible.”
