Royal Welsh College students pledge £100,000 to new build

Students Union presents cheque towards building project

Students at the College are pledging to donate a massive £100,000 towards the College's fund–raising campaign, A Stage for Success, starting with a cheque for £50,000, presented to the College Principal today. The money, which is profit from MADSU Ltd, the Student Union's limited company, is the first major donation to the fund-raising campaign, launched in November.

Heather Ferguson, Students' Union President says, "Our college is all about community and our students want to be part of that, and give something back to the future of their college. Staff and students are working together on these new and exciting plans to take the college into the next generation."

Principal Hilary Boulding adds, "We are overwhelmed with the generosity of our students and delighted that the first major donation to our fund-raising campaign has come from the students' union, a reflection of the commitment our students' have shown to the college's exciting future."

MADSU Ltd (Music & Drama Students’ Union) is a limited company managing the college bar, Students' Union shop and enhanced summer productions which includes several third party clients as well as the students' own Summer Ball. The company employs three permanent staff and a team of 6 part-time staff.
