Students Celebrate Christmas with John Lewis

Royal Welsh College students will be celebrating Christmas
instore, instyle, offering free music to John Lewis customers as
they purchase their Christmas presents.
John Lewis has been supporting the College since the store
opened in Cardiff last year. This year it’s celebrating this
relationship by showcasing the students’ talents with performances
to suit all tastes, including Jazz Carols, a Brass Quintet, and
more traditional Carol Singers. They will be performing at
different sites around the store on selected dates
‘John Lewis has been a supporter of the College
since it arrived in Cardiff. Our brands fit together so well
and we look forward to continuing to work with John Lewis in the
future.’ said David Jackson, Vice Principal, Enterprise and
Events. ‘It’s a wonderful way for John Lewis to support the
arts in the city, nurturing young talent and the arts in Wales. It
also gives us the chance to showcase our talented students and to
build a local audience for the 300 events that take place at the
College each year.’
Nigel Brotherton, Music Advisor to the
Chairman of the John Lewis Partnership, said ‘The John Lewis
Partnership is delighted to support the Royal Welsh College’s
orchestral programme, helping to bring in top-class conductors to
develop the performance experience of these talented young artists.
We are delighted that the relationship is growing in an innovative
and exciting way locally, and we wish the College every success in
the Big Give’.
