RWCMD Launches New Courses

Thoroughly Modern Millie audience

Even in our 60th anniversary year, the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama still has its eyes firmly on the future. In addition to starting work on the exciting £22.5m redevelopment, the College is expanding its offering to potential students with the launch of a range of new courses, the first of these available from January 2010.

The new programmes will include a BMus with specialised pathways in Vocal Performance, Instrumental Performance, Composition and Creative Music Technology, awards dedicated to Jazz Studies have been developed at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and the new collection of masters will include specific vocational programmes such as the MA Acting for Stage, Screen & Radio, MA Scenic Arts & Construction for Stage & Screen and MA Event Production.

These courses will ensure that we are on the cutting edge of training for the creative professions, providing our students with the skills needed to meet the changing needs of industry and employers with the flexible and creative workforce they require.

Several of these innovative new programmes involve working across both the music and drama disciplines and have been developed as a result of strategic industry partnerships. The programmes will be delivered by industry professionals together with our excellent academic teaching staff.
