RWCMD Graduates Feature in New BBC Wales Series

The new BBC Wales drama series, Baker Boys, which
starts this weekend, features a host of Royal Welsh College
graduates, including Eve Myles, Boyd Clack, Simon Ludders, Steven
Meo and Amy Morgan.
The heart-warming three-part series follows the fortunes of
workers from a close-knit Welsh town as they face unemployment, and
have to work together to keep the community alive.
Amy Morgan, who graduated in 2008, said: "I was working with a
very talented cast who I learnt a lot from. It was great to have so
many lovely Royal Welsh graduates around me!"
Steven Meo told us of his personal affinity with the story:
"It's always a pleasure when you get to do a job with such a strong
cast. During filming we all got the feeling that we were part of
something special. The writing merges comedy and tragedy whilst
reflecting the devastating impact of the economic downturn on the
Welsh Valleys. This struck a very personal note with me as I'm
originally from Coelbren, a very small mining village that was
deeply affected by the Miners strike and is subsequently an
unemployment blackspot. I remember, as a child, gathering fruit
baskets from people in the village to take to the striking miners,
and was reminded of this during filming as the community rallies to
try and save ValleyBara and rescue their own way of life."
The first episode is on BBC Wales on Sunday 23 January.
