Phantom Double for Graduates
Two RWCMD graduates are performing for West
End audiences in the latest London production of Phantom of the
Opera.
Vocal Studies graduates Tabitha Webb and Katy Treharne are both
playing the lead role of Christine at Her Majesty’s Theatre.
Tabitha plays the alternate Christine, while Katy is the understudy
for the role, alongside playing the ensemble part of the Bride in
the Mirror.
A West End stalwart, Tabitha played Cosette in Les Miserables
and was hand-picked as one of the featured soloists in Sir Tim
Rice's star-studded production of Chess at the Royal Albert Hall in
2010. Her classical career has seen her perform as soloist at
venues from Brangwyn Hall to the Barbican.
Katy went straight from the College to Christine when she
graduated in 2009.
And until recently, the pair were working alongside another
alumni, Melanie Gowie, whose first job after graduation was three
years as the understudy for Carlotta.
