Aneurin Barnard, who graduated from the Royal Welsh College in
2008, has beaten off stiff competition from Rowan Atkinson amongst
others, to walk away with an Olivier Award for
Best Actor in a Musical for his West End debut as
Melchoir in Spring Awakening. The show also won Best New
Musical and Best Supporting Actor.
Aneurin played Tony in West Side Story at the College
in his final year.
The College is launching an MA in Musical
Theatre in January 2011.
