Made in the UK Jazz Concert series in the USA
11 - 19 June 2010
Students from Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama are
travelling to America this month to play in one of America’s
largest series of British jazz concerts.

On June 15, Head of Jazz, Paula Gardiner, will be presenting
some of the finest musicians on the current Welsh Jazz scene at
‘Made in the UK 2010,’ (MinUK), a festival showcasing Welsh,
English and Scottish groups at the Xerox
Rochester International Jazz Festival (XRIJF) and jazz venues
in New York.
Drawing from the hugely talented pool of students and recent
graduates at the College, Evan Clegg’s ‘Explorations’
project, a collaboration of Cardiff’s new generation of jazz
talent will be performing, with Little Fish, a
contemporary jazz trio, who have already received the accolade of
‘best new band’ at the Welsh Jazz Awards, providing the rhythm
section. This trip will also continue to develop the College’s
educational links with the Eastman School of Music in
Rochester.
A four day mini festival, running simultaneously, starts with
Stan Tracey first New York appearance since 1959!
