Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama Young Actor,
Naomi Everson, is to play the lead role in a new
BBC drama, Shelfstackers. She was chosen from 500 girls
for the part in a drama centred around four teenagers and their
manager working in a supermarket.
Naomi, from Barry, attended the Young
Actors Studio at the Royal Welsh College last year and also
took part in their audition technique course in November. She now
goes to Young Actors Theatre workshops at the College every Friday
and has got a place on the Royal Welsh College BA Acting course in
September.
Naomi’s agent sent her to an audition for a different show but
then the casting director suggested that she try auditioned for
Shelfstackers. The pilot will be shown on the BBC Switch slot on
BBC 2.
Naomi is new to television but she has modelled for Orange,
Diamond Insurance and the Kaiser Chiefs. She also teaches drama to
children on Saturday mornings.
The Young Actors Studios will be holding auditions
on July 3 for courses beginning in September. You will need to
submit an
application form in advance of the auditons.
Audition Technique courses are also available as part of our
Summer Schools & Short Courses
programme. The classes are for 16-19 year olds and last for a day
taking place from July 12- 16th. They are led by the Senior
Lecturer for auditions for the BA Acting course at the College.
