First Year Trombonist Wins Prestigious Prize

Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama first year music
student Stephen Sykes has won first prize in the prestigious Don
Lusher solo competition. Held on Sunday 9 May 2010 in Birmingham,
the four finalists were selected from recordings submitted by
contestants from across the UK and the final was performed live
with a jazz rhythm section.
Stephen’s prize of the Don Lusher Trophy and a professional
