Choir Welcome Ryder Cup Crowd
RWCMD’s home-grown choir Only Men Aloud wowed audiences at the
Millennium Stadium last night. The Last Choir Standing winners
performed at a gala concert to welcome the Ryder Cup to Wales.
The choir, which includes many current and former students, is
directed by long-standing vocal tutor Tim Rhys-Evans and
accompanied by Jeffrey Howard, who still coaches singers at the
college.
Appearing alongside a line-up of famous Welsh names like Dame
Shirley Bassey, Catherine Zeta Jones and Katherine Jenkins, Only
Men Aloud performed a medley of Tom Jones hits in their trademark
style. They also sang their signature tune Don’t Rain on my Parade,
swapping their canes for golf clubs – let’s hope the rain holds off
for the tournament.
