Richard McMahon ARAM DipRAM BMus ARCM

Known internationally as a teacher and concert pianist, Richard McMahon has led the Keyboard Department of the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama for many years. His teachers were Ella Pounder, Gordon Green and Vlado Perlemuter and his career, spanning four decades has included innumerable BBC recordings, concert and television appearances as well as recitals worldwide. As a teacher, he has long been associated with Cardiff, although he now enjoys a international profile with recent visits including Australia, Singapore, China and Japan. He is musical advisor for the Newport International Piano Competition.
