Information for Students, Parents and Carers
Welcome Message from the Head of JMAS
We are delighted that you are taking part in a JMAS course this
year!
At JMAS, we believe that children and young people should have
an opportunity to develop their musical potential within a friendly
and supportive environment. We also believe that learning and
teaching are best achieved in an atmosphere of mutual respect
between all those involved.
These pages contain student versions of the various codes, rules
and policies we have in place to achieve these goals.
They also contains some basic information about your course and
the facilities that are available to you on
Saturdays.
Because at JMAS we work with students from the ages of 4 to 11
but mostly from 11 to 19 years, this information is written in a
way that the most students can understand. However, if you don’t
understand the way something is written, ask a parent/carer to
help, or ask us and we’ll talk you through it.
We hope that you and your parents/carers find this booklet
useful. If you would like further information or have a query or
concern, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
On behalf on the JMAS team, may I wish you every success with
your musical studies.
Patricia Keir
