Junior Course - Jazz Pathway

If you wish to specialise in jazz and improvised music – this is
the pathway for you.
This course provides you with vital foundation skills and
prepares for playing in jazz groups, big bands and musicals.
Individual tuition is offered on: jazz piano, drums, double bass,
electric guitars and saxophone. Please contact us as this list is
expanding all the time.
Individual tuition is supplemented with General Musicianship to
improve essential aural and theoretical skills plus additional
modules of your choice. These range from performance and
presentation to music technology.
In addition there are specialist classes: JELI (Jazz history,
Education, Listening and Improvisation) to develop aesthetic and
stylistic awareness of jazz and Jazz Ensemble. Here you will play a
range of styles such as be-bop and Latin jazz and experience
improvisation and taking ensemble roles.
