Junior Course - Instrument / Voice (Classical) Pathway

The main focus for the day is the individual instrument or voice lesson. This intensive training will help you develop high level musical and technical skills in preparation for performance, exams and competitions.

Individual tuition is offered on:

  • Keyboard: piano and organ
  • Strings: violin, viola, cello, double bass, harp and guitar
  • Woodwind: flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, saxophone, recorder
  • Brass: cornet, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba
  • Percussion: timpani and orchestral percussion
  • Voice (classical)
  • Composition

This tuition is supplemented by several important classes. Chamber music, which is performed by musicians in small groups such as duos and quartets; General Musicianship to improve essential aural and theoretical skills plus short course options of your choice. These range from performance and presentation to music technology.

All players of orchestra instrument participate in the full-sized Junior Orchestra. There are weekly rehearsals and performances at least twice a year.

There are workshops every week for pianists and singers to hone skills and develop awareness of piano / vocal repertoire.
