For ages 18 and over. Over an intensive five days of classes,
you will learn how to construct a corset using traditional
techniques and fabrics. The aim of the course is to construct an
1860s corset to fit the student. This spiral boned corset has a
split busk fastening and centre back lacing. The student will also
explore techniques such as gussets, cording and flossing.
All necessary notions will be available to purchase for
approximately £20, and participants should bring their own choice
of surface fabric for the corset and their basic sewing kit, e.g.
scissors, pins, needles.
