Jacqueline Pischorn

Jacqueline Pischorn studied singing at the Hochschule für Musik
in Graz, Austria and at Trinity College of Music, London.
During her post-graduate studies she specialised in works of the
20th and 21st century and sang several first
performances in London. Jacqueline sang the first performance
of Kyng Orfeo, written for her by Ian Schofield, at Turner
Sims Hall in Southampton, accompanied by David Owen Norris.
Recent singing engagements include Gounod Messe solennelle de
Sainte Cecileand Melisande in excerpts
of Debussy’s Pelleas et Melisandewith Kington
Choral Society near Hereford, conducted by Igor Kennaway, and
Emmeline in Purcell’s King Arthur in Newbury with Edward
Lambert, Brahms Requiem with the Portsmouth Baroque Choir and the B
Minor Mass with the London Orpheus Choir in Southwark
Cathedral.
Jacqueline works as German language coach for the Royal Welsh
College of Music and Drama, for Welsh National Opera (Salome and
Wozzeck 2009, Entführung and Meistersinger 2010) and notable UK
choirs. In autumn 2010 she will be German language coach for
WNO’s productions of Fidelio and Ariadne auf Naxos.
Recently her book German Diction for
English-speaking singers was officially launched at the Royal
Welsh College of Music in Cardiff.
