Dean Wright
Dean Wright studied at the Royal Northern
College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is
Principal Trumpet of the Orchestra of Welsh National Opera, a
position he has held since 1997. Previously, he held the
position of Principal Trumpet with the European Community Youth
Orchestra, playing under conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, and
Carlo Maria Giulini. Dean has also played for some of the top
brass bands in the UK including Leyland Daf, Britannia Building
Society, Besses o'th Barn and Sellers Engineering bands. In
2010, Dean was a panellist for the Brass Final of the BBC Young
Musician Competition.
