Acting for Stage, Screen & Radio

Throughout the Study Abroad programme you will receive training
in movement skills, exploring physical approaches to the
development of character and methods for safe, economical use of
the body as well as basic dance techniques. In stage combat classes
you will learn skills in fencing and unarmed combat. Vocal skills
classes will teach you the essential techniques relating to speech,
singing, accents, and the effective use of the voice.
Depending on the time of your study, you will be offered a range
of projects focusing on the development of the specific skills
required for Shakespeare,comedy, music theatre, physical theatre,
film, TV, or radio.
Finally, you may be given the option to perform in one of over
15 productions staged each year, ranging from intimate contemporary
pieces to large-scale Shakespeare and Broadway musicals. Our
performances take place in the college’s own theatre spaces and in
major professional theatres.
English Language Requirements
Candidates for whom English is not their first language are
required to demonstrate a level of fluency appropriate to
professional training.
