The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama is one of the UK’s
leading providers of vocational training with an outstanding
reputation for
providing its students with technical skills and a work ethic of
the highest order.
Our Drama Department offers a range of Study Abroad Programmes
which enable you to select an intensive pathway from within the BA
(Hons) Programmes, to create a unique learning experience. These
pathways include:
• Acting for Stage, Screen & Radio
• Theatre Design: Set Design & Realisation, Constume
Design & Construction, Scenography
• Puppetry
• Stage Management: Technical Theatre, Lighting Design, Sound
Design
Students will develop their knowledge and skills during focussed
classes and be given the opportunity to experience either project
work or live production work alongside the students of the RWCMD.
In a highly motivated training
environment, your abilities develop quickly, preparing you for the
challenges of the industry.
Supporting your training, you will benefit from visits and
lectures from external professional practitioners, and cultural
visits to theatres, galleries and events in Cardiff, London and the
Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.
These Study Abroad Programmes are designed for a period of
twelve weeks.
The number of students accepted onto each pathway will be
comparatively small, as the Study Abroad Programme is designed to
run alongside the BA and MA courses at the College.
Applicants are required to have basic skills relevent to their
chosen field to enable them to benefit from this training.
