Music Auditions by Recording

Your audition should be a visual file and should open with a verbal account of your experience and aims for the future. If your recording is audio only, you must ask one of your referees to provide a written verification of authenticity. Your recording should include performances of two contrasting pieces and you should take care to select pieces that allow you to demonstrate the full extent of your ability. In total, your performance should last approximately 10 minutes. The recording must clearly show you playing your instrument without any obstruction.

A short verbal introduction of each piece is required. Presentation (dress, deportment and general stage demeanour) will be taken into account by academic staff assessing your audition.

If it is impossible for you to produce a visual recording you may be able to submit an audio recording. An audio recording will not be accepted unless at least one of your referees provides written confirmation of the reasons you are unable to produce a visual recording & written verification of authenticity of the recording.

Please send this to the address below.

Drama Auditions by Recording

As it might be difficult for you to attend an audition in person, we are able to make an initial assessment of your application on the basis of a recording. If you would prefer to do this, please send a DVD or video (PAL) recording to the address below by February 3, 2012. However, you should be aware that we are sometimes unable to make a firm offer of a place on the basis of a recording alone and if you are shortlisted, you could be asked to attend a final audition in person.

To ensure that you fully understand the audition requirements, whether you are auditioning in person or by recording, please visit the Auditions Guidance page which can be found under the Course pages.
