Master of Music (MMus)
Entry Requirements
Entry is by audition. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a
level of performance and professional potential appropriate to
advanced conservatoire training. Composition and creative music
technology candidates will be required to attend an interview to
discuss their previously submitted work.
Typical minimum entry requirements also include a 2:1 degree in
music with a considerable practical or creative component.
Candidates who have a degree in another subject should have a
significant recognised practical diploma in music.
For international students recognised equivalent qualifications
are accepted.
Applicants for whom English is not a first language are required
to demonstrate a level of fluency equivalent to an overall score of
IELTS 6.5 or equivalent (with at
least 6.0 in reading and writing) for a two year course and an
overall score of IELTS 7.0 (with at least 6.0 in reading and
writing) for a one year course. A minimum level of IELTS 5.0 is
required in speaking and listening for both.
Applicants who have scored within IELTS 0.5 of the minimum
requirements will be required to complete the pre-sessional English language course.
