About Us
Our Ambition
As the National Conservatoire of Wales, the
College is the only institution in the UK that provides specialist
practical and performance-based training in music, acting, theatre
design and stage management, enabling students to enter and
influence the world of music, theatre and related professions
The College has a key role in identifying and developing new
talent, providing high quality training tailored to the demands of
contemporary arts and creative industries.
We train and educate some of the most talented students from
around the world, aiming to give them not just the technical and
craft skills they will need to operate at the top levels of the
profession, but also helping them to discover and develop their
individual artistic ‘voice’.
From Oscar-winner Sir Anthony Hopkins to Gavin and
Stacey’s Ruth Jones, rising opera singer Laura Parfitt to jazz
musician Dave Stapleton, our Alumni carry the College’s name and
reputation worldwide.
Our ambition is to make an ever more central
contribution to the cultural life of Cardiff, to Wales, and through
our graduates, to the international arts industry.
A Unique Environment
Set in the grounds of Cardiff Castle, bordering one of the
largest and most beautiful urban parks in the UK, the College is
the College is well known for its distinctly warm and welcoming
character.
With just 550 students, there is a real sense of community and
we are able to offer our students an outstanding level of
support.
